شكّل وزير الصحة العامة وائل ابو فاعور لجنة طوارئ لتقييم المخاطر الصحية للنفايات والقيام بالاجراءات اللازمة واقتراح الحلول على المستويين القصير المدى والبعيد المدى، والتي لا تتناول فقط عمل وزارة الصحة العامة بل اقتراح الاجراءات على الوزارات الاخرى المعنية، على ان تنجز تقريرها والخطوات المطلوبة خلال يومين.

- الدكتور وليد عمار مدير عام وزارة الصحة العامة
- الدكتور عبد الرحمن البزري (أخصائي في الأمراض المعدية والجرثومية)
- الدكتورة نجاة صليبا (اخصائية في الكيمياء )
- الدكتور صلاح زين الدين (أخصائي في الأمراض التنفسية والصدرية )
- الدكتور معتصم الفاضل (أخصائي في الهندسة البيئية)
- الدكتورة عاتكة بري (أخصائية في الصحة العامة- وزارة الصحة العامة)
- المهندسة جويس حداد (أخصائية في الهندسة الغذائية- وزارة الصحة العامة)
